How To Disable Forced Restarts After A Windows Update
It’s happened to all Windows users. You’re using your computer and Windows decides you need to reboot, hassling you with pop-ups that continue to bug you all day long. If you step away from your computer and miss the pop-up, Windows will automatically reboot your computer. You may come back to your computer and find that all your open programs are gone, as Windows decided to reboot without your permission. This can be maddening.

There’s a good reason for rebooting after updates, as rebooting ensures that security updates actually take effect. But Microsoft has gone too far — they shouldn’t be hassling Windows users and rebooting their computers without  permission. Windows 8 handles these forced restarts with a longer grace period, but still pesters you and eventually reboots your computer automatically.

Disable Forced Restarts With a Registry Hack

You can prevent these automatic restarts from happening by performing a quick registry hack. This trick will work on all versions of Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and even Windows XP. Windows will update normally if you perform this trick, but will not automatically reboot when you’re logged into your computer. You should still reboot after an update, but you can do it on your own schedule.
First, you’ll need to open the Registry Editor. Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog, type regedit into it, and press Enter.

When the registry editor appears, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU  registry key.

You’ll likely find that the last two parts of the key — the WindowsUpdate\AU parts — don’t yet exist. You’ll need to create them yourself.
To do so, right-click the Windows key, point to New, and select Key. Type WindowsUpdate and press Enter. Then, right-click the WindowsUpdate key, point to New, and select Key. Type AU and press Enter. This will create the correct registry key structure.

 With the AU key selected in the left pane, right-click in the right pane, point to New, and select DWORD (32-bit) value. Type NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers and press Enter to name the new value.

 Double-click the value you just created and type 1 into its value data box. You can then click OK — you’re done in the registry.

You can now reboot your computer and your policy changes will take effect. However, you probably don’t want to reboot your computer! Luckily, you can make these changes take effect without rebooting.
First, open a Command Prompt window as Administrator. On Windows 8, press Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin). On Windows 7, open the Start menu, search for Command Prompt, right-click the Command Prompt shortcut, and select Run as Administrator.

Run the following command to make your changes take effect immediately:
gpupdate /force

You,re  done.

Disable UAC on Windows Vista:

Open up Control Panel, and type in “UAC” into the search box. You’ll see a link for “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off”:

On the next screen you should uncheck the box for “Use User Account Control (UAC)”, and then click on the OK button.

You’ll need to reboot your computer before the changes take effect, but you should be all done with annoying prompts.

Disable UAC on Windows 7

Windows 7 makes it much easier to deal with UAC settings, and in fact you don’t have to completely disable UAC if you don’t want to. Just type UAC into the start menu or Control Panel search box.

You can simply drag the slider up or down, depending on how often you want to be alerted.

If you drag it all the way down to the bottom, you’ll have disabled it entirely.Windows 7 UAC Settings

Disable UAC on Windows 8 or 8.1

Open up the Start screen, search for UAC, and you should see an option for User Account Control settings. If you don’t, you’ll need to change to search through your Settings first, but then you should see it.

 And then you can drag the slider all the way to the bottom, the same as for the other versions of Windows.

Dead simple , Hope your done with UAC.

dropbox

Dropbox is leading file sharing website. Millions of people is sharing files from Dropbox to everywhere. It is very simple and easy to use. Dropbox provide 2GB free space every new sign up. People try to share direct links of Dropbox. There is lot of tricks on the web to share direct links of Dropbox. Here is simple guide how can you share direct link from Dropbox.
If you don’t have account on Dropbox yet then sign up today.
odern browsers can automatically detect or handle many file types today. For instance, clicking image links in a browser will typically open the image within the browser rather than download it to your desktop. To bypass the preview page and allow your browser to handle your files, replace www with dl and dropbox with dropboxusercontent in your URL. For example:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/xttkmuvu7hh72vu/MyFile.pdf

Becomes:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/xttkmuvu7hh72vu/MyFile.pdf

Using the new direct link above, you can further modify the URL to force the browser to download the file, rather than handle it natively. To force a file download, append a direct link with ?dl=1. Example:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/xttkmuvu7hh72vu/MyFile.pdf?dl=1

I hope this guide will little helpful for you.

I,
 personally love the Dropbox file sharing program, and it’s not hard to explain why “” instant synchronization across all three major platforms is inherently awesome. Drop a file into your Dropbox on one computer and it shows up almost instantly on all your other computers, be it at home or work.
Dropbox Sharing Gets Easier with Direct Links to Anything in Your Dropbox Folders
 But as useful as the Dropbox file sharing program is on its own, it’s even better when used in tandem with the applications you already know and love. Whether it’s remotely starting a Bittorrent download, synchronizing your calendar and to-do list or making your video game habit instantly portable, Dropbox can make multiple computers function as though they are one.

1. Start a Bittorrent Download (Remotely) From Anywhere

 Bittorrent is the peer to peer technology of choice for most Internet users, but it’s not exactly easy on bandwidth. So if you think of something you want to download while you’re at work, running BitTorrent on your work computer is probably a good way to get fired. You can, however, easily start a BitTorrent download on your home desktop machine or media center from work with a little bit of Dropbox magic.

Most torrent clients are capable of watching a given folder for .torrent files. Point your program towards a folder in your Dropbox file sharing program, and volia. If you leave your desktop computer on while you’re at work, you can add a .torrent file to the folder in your Dropbox from work and your download will automatically start “” at home. Pretty cool, huh!
Can’t install Dropbox on your work machine? No problem; just use Dropbox’s web interface to upload the files.

2. Keep Your Calendars Synchronized

I’m sure many of you use Google Calendar for your online calendar needs “” it’s an easy-to-use calendar you can access anywhere. But online calendars are only useful when you have an Internet connection, leaving you without you data in those (admittedly increasingly rare) instances when there’s no nearby WiFi connection.
Dropbox’s strength being  the ability to make data on one computer accessible from all your computers, combining Dropbox with your desktop calendar application of choice can deliver a great compromise between an offline and and online calendar: simply save your calendar file to your Dropbox. Your data will be accessible when you’re offline, and you’ll even be able to make changes. As soon as the computer you made those changes on connects to the Internet, however, they will take affect on all your computers.
Mozilla’s Sunbird works beautifully this way. Simply create a new iCal file and save it in your Dropbox, then open the file with Sunbird on all your systems. Now all changes you make to your calendar will be visible on all your systems.

 So,

 you’re still not using HTML5!!, you probably have your reasons; it’s not fully adopted yet, it doesn’t work in IE or you love to write strict XHTML code. HTML 5 is the revolution which the web world has been looking forward and it has arrived whether we like it or not. HTML 5 is not difficult to understand and though the adoption has been slow it may worth the effort to learn it and start using it right now – maybe after reading this article.
Basically HTML5 has its many new syntactical features, which include the <video>, <audio>, and <canvas> elements, as well as the integration of SVG content. Due to these new elements, it will be very easy to integrate multimedia and graphical content to web without using flash and third party plugins. There are also another new elements like <section>, <article>, <header> and <nav> which enrich the semantic value of the document. Other major advantages of HTML5 are described below.

1. Mutuality
The websites developed today like Facebook and Twitter have to be highly interactive and in order to achieve this fluid animation and streaming video need to be an integral part of the website. Flash or Silverlight, flex or javascript were the only tools available to achieve this, but with HTML 5 it is possible to embed video and audio, high quality drawings, charts, animation and many other rich content without using any plugins as the functionality is built into the browser.

2. Cleaner markup / Improved Code
HTML 5 will enable web designers to use cleaner, neater code; we can remove most div tags and replace them with semantic HTML 5 elements. Consider this typical and simple header code with navigation:
<div id="header">
<h1>Header Text</h1>
<div id="nav">
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
So this code is pretty clean and simple? But with HTML5 you can clean this up even more and at the same time give your markup more meaning:
<header>
<h1>Header Text</h1>
<nav>
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
</ul>
</nav>
</header>
HTML5 allows you to code your markup cleaner as well as keep your CSS better organized.

3. Elegant forms
HTML5 enables designer to use fancier forms. Even it makes form validation native to HTML, User interface enhancements and reduced need for JavaScript (only needed in browsers that don’t support form types). There will be different type of text inputs, search and different fields for different purpose.

4. Consistency
As websites adopt the new HTML5 elements we will see more consistency in terms of the HTML used to code a web page on one site compared to another. This will make it easier for designers and developers to immediately understand how a web page is structured.

5. Improved Accessibility
HTML5 makes creating accessible sites easier for two main reasons: semantics and ARIA. The new (some currently available) HTML headings like <header>, <footer>, <nav>, <section>, <aside>, etc. allow screen readers to easily access content. Before, your screen readers had no way to determine what a given <div> was even if you assigned it an ID or Class. With new semantic tags screen readers can better examine the HTML document and create a better experience for those who use them.

6. Rich Media Elements Support
Forget about Flash Player and other third party media players, getting a video to play earlier has always been a nightmare with the <object> tags and the scores of parameters that go with it for the plugin. HTML 5 has inbuilt capability to play video and audio, so we can say goodbye to the messy plugin tags. An example is illustrated below:

<videoposter="myvideo.jpg"controls>
<sourcesrc="myvideo.m4v"type="video/mp4"/>
<sourcesrc="myvideo.ogg"type="video/ogg"/>
<embedsrc="/to/my/video/player"></embed>
</video>

7. Offline Application cache
HTML 5 offers the developer the ability to specify what the browser should cache, what this means that HTML 5 offers an offline application cache facility which would load the page the user has visited even if the user is temporarily offline. This feature helps the files load much faster and reduced load on server.
8. Smarter Storage
Cookies have been used to track unique user data for years, but they have serious limitations. The biggest flaw is that all of your cookie data is added to every HTTP request header, which ends up having a measurable impact on response time. HTML 5 solves this issue with the help of a concept called Local Storage. It’s better than cookies because it allows for storage across multiple windows, it has better security and performance and data will persist even after the browser is closed. Since it is essentially a client side data base you don’t have to worry about the user deleting cookies and it seems to have been adopted by all the popular browsers.
9. Mobile and Geo-Location
Mobile devices are taking over the world. The adoption of mobile devices continues to grow very rapidly and this means that more and more users will be using their mobile browsers to view your web site or application. With Adobe announcing the death of mobile Flash, HTML5 is the most mobile ready tool for developing mobile sites and apps. Mobile browsers have fully adopted HTML5 so creating mobile ready projects is as easy as designing and constructing for their smaller touch screen displays. The new HTML5 geo-location APIs make location, whether generated via GPS or other methods, directly available to any HTML5-compatible browser-based application.

Future of HTML 5

The above points are only an overview of the HTML 5 advantages and there is a lot more to know about HTML5. It is assumed that HTML 5 would become a programming language and this is not expected to be completed before 2022! , so please keep this in mind and start using HTML5 in your designs right now!
The future of HTML5 may be rosy, but the following facts need to be considered before it can be adopted:
  1. Not all promise of HTML 5 has actually been realized.
  2. There are a few hurdles to overcome for development teams that are jumping into HTML5 now.
  3. Lack of compatibility with Internet Explorer is a big concern
  4. Concern about the rapidly changing state of the HTML5 standard and the lack of audience for HTML5 apps.
  5. HTML 5 in the mobile arena is rapidly evolving. Is it worth risking money on development using HTML 5 if it may have to be undone if the specification changes.
  6. Native Apps (ios and droid) are extremely popular, but the market for HTML 5 mobile apps may not be comparable to Native apps.
It should be noted that even with the above limitations HTML 5 is the future. HTML5 is not going anywhere and as more and more elements get adopted more and more companies will start to develop in HTML5 and the day would not be very far off where we have most browsers supporting the complete subset of the HTML 5 specification
